Margaret Brisbane is the CIO and Director of the Information Technology Department for Miami-Dade County. In her current role, she is responsible for leading a team of 900+ IT professionals in servicing the technology needs of the County. Margaret is the first women to serve in the role as county CIO.Prior to joining the County, Margaret served as an IT Director for various brands under the Diageo Corporation.  

Throughout her career, Margaret has been actively involved in the community and professional organizations.  She is a member of the South Florida CIOs, is the Chair of the ITWomen Virtual Mentoring Program, a member of the Technology Committees at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Beacon Council. She has a passion for mentoring and currently leads programs for high school students and an apprenticeship program with Miami Dade College and Florida International University students. 

Margaret earned a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. She received a certificate in Executive Leadership from Harvard University. She was inducted in the Miami-Dade College Hall of Fame in 2022, she received the Torch award from FIU and was named Female Technology Leader of the Year by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. She recently received the “Ones to Watch” award from the CIO Executive Council, she was nominated for the “Badass Woman of the Year” and is a finalist for the South Florida CIO ORBIE Awards.
