Identity is the connective tissue that bridges all of this together – identity of things, identity of people, identity of organizations, identity of customers, and identity of threat actors. This keynote, led by Nirav Sheth, Okta’s Vice President of Solutions Engineering for Americas, will provide some terrific insights on how organizations can accelerate their digital transformation journey through the power of identity-first cloud capabilities.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital transformation, where change is the only constant, harnessing the power of identity has become pivotal. With the world navigating through economic upheavals, a global pandemic, and geopolitical shifts, organizations are faced with the challenge of adapting to an ever-changing environment. This dynamic terrain has only been further intensified by the prominence of artificial intelligence (AI) and its profound impact on industries worldwide.

In the words of the Nirav Sheth, Vice President of PreSales, Okta Americas, “We are living in some of the most dynamic times in the world in the history of humanity.” Economic crises, capital market fluctuations, and the recent global pandemic have collectively reshaped the corporate landscape. IDC predicts a staggering investment of over $154 billion in AI-centric and AI-powered systems this year alone. It is evident that AI is no longer on the periphery but has emerged as a central force reshaping industries.

Redefining Strategies

Nirav highlights a crucial point – organizations must adapt to these changing circumstances. McKinsey’s study reveals that 64% of organizations are contemplating a significant overhaul of their go-to-market and business models. In this environment, flexibility and adaptability are key. “Events over the last 12 to 18 months have brought about a scenario where we’ve got to change, and we’ve got to shift,” Nirav Sheth emphasized.

CEO Concerns

The concerns of CEOs resonate strongly with this shift. A survey of 2,000 CEOs around the world, including Latin America, unveiled some stark realities. A staggering 73% of CEOs felt that the economic climate was headed for a decline, and 40% believed their companies would not remain economically viable in a decade if they stuck to their current strategies. This underscores the urgency for transformation.

Amidst these challenges, Nirav Sheth advocates for a paradigm shift in security strategies. Rather than merely fixing issues post-incident, organizations should focus on prevention, and identity plays a pivotal role. Nirav underscores, “Perhaps we need to be a little bit more focused on prevention rather than just fixing.” In a world where security breaches can be catastrophic, a proactive approach is the need of the hour.

Nirav Sheth is currently Okta’s VP of Solutions Engineering – leading an organization of over 250 talented individuals focused on architecting and building out powerful solutions for clients across the Americas. Prior to Okta, Nirav built and led a multi billion dollar Americas ISV Sales business at Google Cloud, and, prior to Google Cloud, Nirav had a long tenure at Cisco spanning roles in Product, Services, Support, and, Ecosystems.
