Solutions such as blockchain, artificial intelligence or Internet of Things (IoT) have become recurring concepts in the business world, required for companies’ digital transformation. All of them find their common denominator in cloud computing, which has developed and matured in the last several years.
A key turning point. The decision to join the technology revolution or to stay still. This is the dilemma that Corporations are facing today, which faced with a pandemic context -like people- have been forced to promote changes in the way they operate daily and how they communicate and relate.
Overnight it became a need to implement massively homeworking and online classes, driving an increase in process the virtualization, both at the workplace and in the social sphere. The digital transformation is here to stay, and the information and communication technologies (ICT) are currently the queens in the value chain, going from being just a support to a fundamental component of all the industries primary activities.
Raúl Palacios, Multicloud Solutions Director at Gtd, will dive into the importance of Cloud Computing for digital transformation in his participation at the 7th Latin American Congress of Technology and Business América Digital 2022.
“When people hear about the cloud, they think in the main technological world giants and in a hyper-scale public offer. The truth is that the cloud is much more than the technologies that compose it: it is an operation and service model that makes possible to provide technological resources (processing, storage, services) in an agile way, that simply could not be carried out with traditional technology methods”, he said.
Cloud computing is such a natural and transparent extension of traditional IT operations, with different purpose models, which make it easier for organizations -with different sizes and natures- to have solutions suited to the times. It could be up and running hours, instead of months, with the flexibility and agility to face the changing demands of customers, citizens, students, companies or organizations.
The access to global-scale solutions (hyper-scale), combined with local deployment solutions, which can respond to specific requirements of productive sectors and regional governments, makes it possible to speed up the digital transformation plans of organizations. That will provide scalability and elasticity.
